Christmas Girl

WOW, it has been a really long time since I put a post up onto our blog. These past few months have been a whirlwind of activity, so I just have not had the time! I have so many pictures and videos to put up, but for now here are our most recent ones - Christmas Girl! We are hoping to get a Santa picture done this year too.... but we shall see if those work out :)

So we finally went to have some professional pictures done. We hadn't taken Adelle yet, so we figured it was time since our little princess is growing up so fast. Hope you like them. Sorry there are so many. I couldn't decide which my favourites were so I put almost all of them! Please let me know the next time we are speaking which ones you would like printed....

Adelle's 1st Birthday Party

Adelle is 1!!

Her birthday party, on her birthday June 28th was a wonderful day. We had a great time, especially Adelle who put on a little wiggle-dance show after opening all her presents. I think it was then that she realized she was the center of attention, and thought she might as well take advantage of the spotlight! The rain stopped for the afternoon, so everyone was able to enjoy the yard and bbq dinner!

Well for those of you who were at Adelle's party, thank you for coming out, and if you couldn't be here with us then I hope you like these latest pictures of her (some are not from her party).

Adelle is growing up so quickly, and is changing so much! She took her first steps on June 9th. It was quite fortunate that her Opa and Nima (Nana + Oma = Nima) were in town visiting and saw the whole thing! Adelle sure pulled out all the stops for them. Well, it was only Opa's second time seeing her, and Nima's first, so a good show was in order!!!
Her vocabulary is also developing a lot. Here is her list of words so far:
1. All Done (Just 2 days ago she said these 2 words together! It sounds like Doll Done but she knows it means she is finished her food!)
2. Puppy (kind of a shocker considering we and daycare only have kitties... no puppies)
3. No (no comment... its a pleasure!)
4. Hi and Bye (Both hi and bye are often used while she holds the phone up to her ear and pretends to talk!)
5. Mama/Dada/Nana
6. Mmmm for something yummy (and sometimes things she doesnt like too!) and Weeeeee for exciting!
7. Ti-ti = pretty (its a tricky one, but she is working on it!)

She is trying new sounds everyday so it won't take long for this list to double!

Adelle Walking With Her Lil' Hippo!!!

Adelle is loving her lil Hippo! Just a few days ago we were able to let her go! She loves walking back and forth across the room all by herself!!! Take a look below!

We thought it wouldn't happen BUT......

Adelle crawled today, for the first time!!!! It was a very exciting moment. The last few days she has been very frustrated with being unable to move around by herself. This morning we were playing with her on the floor and she just went for it! She has created her own funky little crawl.... you can see the video. You can hear the excitement in her yells of joy! What a great day.

Adelle is also still walking all the time. We like to set up a "bridge" through the living room using chairs and tables. She just walks along, back and forth, holding onto all the items as she goes. She is becoming quite skilled at this now.

She has learned the meaning of the word "dance"!! (totally mommy's daughter!) If there is music playing and you say "dance!" she wiggles and shakes. Usually mommy and daddy join in because it's so cute.... that always makes her laugh and smile.

We are getting set to move at the end of the month, so now that we have a crawly baby the baby gates are going up ASAP! Hopefully, Adelle has no adjustment issues into the new house. It will be interesting to see how she reacts. I am sure she will love our little yard, as well as the park and playground out back!

Now that the weather is getting nicer, we are spending lots of time at the conservation parks. There are so many in our area, being so close to the Niagara Escarpment. So we gets lots of fresh air and go for lots of walks. ... Gotta enjoy the outdoors on the weekends since we are cooped up in our offices during the week!
